In my collegiate experience, Theta was an opportunity for me to develop leadership skills, focus on scholarship, make life-long friends, and live with 100 of my closest friends. The memories that I have from my three and a half years of sisterhood at Alpha/DePauw University will be with me forever.
My amazing Theta experience in undergrad led me to apply to be an ELC. While I wasn’t exactly sure what the position entailed, I applied because I couldn’t imagine my life without Theta. In one school year, I traveled to 30 different universities in 17 unique states. I experienced 4 feet of snow while visiting Mu/Allegheny, ate my first In & Out Burger with the women of Gamma Chi/Fresno State, and attended the best Theta Philanthropy fashion show put on by Zeta Mu/MIT. More than anything, I learned that Theta extended beyond my experience at DePauw University. I learned what Theta For a Lifetime meant. I learned that Theta had to play a role in my future.
There are many reasons why I serve the Fraternity as an advisor. My undergrad and ELC experiences taught me the meaning of service and the importance of giving back to the Theta community. I had great advisors that were role models to me in college and I hope to provide the same experience for collegiate women. Advising helps broaden my horizon of Theta’s scope and influence on today’s society. I continually grow personally and professionally from my involvement with Theta and I have loved every step of my Theta journey along the way!
