I remember when I first received my bid from Elizabeth, Lizzy, and Meghan and the first thing I said was “This is a joke right?” I hugged them right away and I just could not believe that this group of amazing women decided to give me a bid. I had to call my mom right away but unfortunately she did not pick up her phone, so I thought the next best thing was to tell my best friend, so I ran to the science center in flip-flops. I did trip a few times but hey I was running with this huge smile on my face so nothing seemed to matter at the time.

Bid Night was finally here and I was so nervous! I didn't know what to wear, if I should curl my hair or not, I was literally freaking out. Finally, I just put whatever on because hey these girls accepted me for who I am. I was walking to the Theta house and I could not make myself walk all the way. I was so nervous because I used to be the girl that said “I can not see myself joining Greek life” but when I attended a few open houses, everything seemed to click. I knew deep down that I wanted to be part of Theta. While walking back I told myself "What are you doing...you really want this!" So I decided to go back to the Theta House and when I finally arrived I knew I wanted to be part of this group of leading women. They were singing, welcoming, and just so happy. After being in Theta for a year now, I have grown as person and I have seen my sisters grow along with me. I am so thankful to be able to part of this sisterhood. I’m glad I ended up running back to Theta on Bid Night because it was the best decisions I have ever made, and that time I didn't trip.
