By Hannah Urano, Senior The pale yellow house on Winter Street looks insignificant compared to its impressive neighbors: the Arts Castle looms on the hill across the street and the ever adorable Winter Street Inn sits adjacent to it. The street is rowed with houses that have made their way onto the national registry of historical homes. 179 West Winter Street however is significant to hundreds of Ohio Wesleyan women—past and present—it is the home of the Gamma deuteron chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. |
Undoubtedly, Theta sisterhood is characterized by whom we share it with. I will always be thankful for the lifelong friends I have made through Theta, but I know those friendships will continue to grow after graduation. What I’ll miss the most is Gamma deuteron’s house on Winter Street. Our house has provided me with a place to watch endless hours of Law and Order: SVU. It has been a place where I can bake cookies while I study. Over the years I have napped on probably every couch in the house. Although I know I can do these things at home (while unemployed) this summer it won’t be the same without my sisters napping on the couches next to me. I am so so grateful for my home away from home, and hope it continues to be just as loved for many years to come. |
